P.E. Uniform
Students in 5th – 8th Grade
will change into a school-approved P.E. uniform for physical education classes.
See pictures below of the approved P.E. uniform. If a student forgets his/her
P.E. uniform, they will be able to borrow a spare set from the school. If a
student chooses not to borrow the spare set, in the event of them forgetting
their P.E. uniform, they will earn zero points for the day and not participate
in P.E.
Daily Grading Rubric for BLS 5th-8th Grade
Physical Education
For each PE class students receive a number grade on a scale
of 0-10, with 10 being the ideal score and 0 being the lowest score. Scores are
used to determine each student’s grade. There are three (3) main areas that are
covered by the daily grading rubric: participation/effort/attitude. Each area
is clearly described below.
BL Locker Room and P.E. Rules and Expectations
1. Respect Others: Treat
your peers, teachers, and staff with kindness, respect, and consideration.
Bullying, harassment, or any form of disrespectful behavior will not be
tolerated.
2. Privacy and Personal
Space: Each individual's personal space and privacy must be respected at
all times. Avoid touching or going through someone else's belongings without
permission.
3. Safety First: Follow
all safety guidelines and instructions provided by the teachers or staff.
Report any safety concerns or hazards immediately to the appropriate authority.
4. Maintain Cleanliness:
Keep the locker room clean and tidy. Dispose of trash in designated bins and
pick up after yourself. Avoid leaving personal items or clothing lying around.
Anything left on the ground will be taken to lost and found.
5. Proper Attire: Wear
the BL P.E. uniform and appropriate footwear for physical education activities.
Changing areas should be used for changing clothes only. If you do not have
your P.E. Uniform, see Mrs. Rawlings for a spare set. If you choose not use
the spare set of P.E. uniform, you will sit out for the day and receive 0(zero)
point for P.E.
6. Personal Hygiene:
Maintain good personal hygiene by showering regularly and using deodorant.
Encourage others to practice good hygiene as well. Not all deodorants are
created equally. If what you’re using isn’t working, consider another brand.
Aerosol spray cans are not allowed.
7. Communication: Use
respectful language and tone when communicating with others. Refrain from using
profanity, offensive gestures, or derogatory remarks. Communicate using an
inside voice.
8. Locker Security: Report
any suspicious activities or theft to a teacher or staff member immediately.
9. Timeliness: Be
punctual and arrive promptly to class or activities. Avoid lingering in the
locker room unnecessarily.
10. Emergency Procedures: Familiarize
yourself with emergency procedures and evacuation routes. Follow instructions
from teachers or staff during emergency situations.
11. Personal Belongings: Do not bring
valuable or unnecessary items to the locker room. The school will not be
responsible for any lost or stolen items.
12. Cooperation and Teamwork: Encourage a
positive and inclusive atmosphere by working together as a team. Support your
classmates and help create an environment that promotes friendship and unity.
Remember, the locker room is a shared space, and everyone
deserves to feel safe and respected. By adhering to these rules and
expectations, we can create a positive and enjoyable environment for all.
